Sunset Ridge
After years of dreaming to buy a vacation home in Florida, our dream finally came true in 2011.
The holiday home is located in a closed park, where not everyone can just drive in. You need a code to open the entrance gate.
About 15 minutes drive from all Disney parks and 30 minutes drive to Universal Studios and Seaworld (Legoland has been added since 2013). The town of Celebration is also recommended, about a 15-minute drive away. Built by the Disney corporation, completely in the classic Victorian style, great for walking in the evening and eating a super tasty ice cream in a rocking chair by the lake.
Our house has a living area of 180 square meters.
There are 5 bedrooms, newly furnished in 2011, 4 bathrooms of which only the two children’s rooms have to share their bathroom.
We rent out our house based on a maximum of 6 adults and 4 children
There is a separate dinning room with a 6-person dining room table, you will also find a bookcase with various Dutch-language books and games for the kids.
The kitchen is open to the living room and has a breakfast nook with a 4-person dining room table. All equipment was purchased new and of better quality.
The living room is furnished in a contemporary way and fully equipped (you immediately feel at home).
Each bedroom has its own style, as we have all decorated our room to our own liking.
In the children’s rooms we have used some Disney items to keep the Disney atmosphere alive for the children.
Access to the pool is from the living room through sliding doors. You can sit there under the patio or of course enjoy the sun on the terrace, there is also a door to the bathroom / toilet of the master bedroom, so you don’t have to go through the living room with wet bathing suits. The sun appears on the terrace around 11:00 in the morning and from the pool you can see the sun sinking, so there is sun practically all day long.
We have a fairly large swimming pool, so you can play all kinds of (soft) ball games in it, or just sunbathe, bobbing on your own air mattress (very cheap at Walmart).
Of course we have the screened porch that is customary in Florida, this is a cage made of mesh so that you are not bothered by vermin and yet can fully enjoy the sun and sit with the light on in the evening.
Then the unobstructed view from the pool, you overlook a retention area (water collection), a large plain that remains undeveloped with orange trees in the distance, what more could you wish for.
